Trend Micro Review
Overview
Trend Micro has been around for years and has consistently been one of the most popular Anti Virus products due to its features and protection. Trend Micro supports up to 2 devices on a standard licence although sadly 24/7 support is only available on it’s top package. Trend Micro have some nice features like folder shield to protect to provide extra added protection in case of a ransom-ware attack that the antivirus real time protection may miss.
Layout
The interface is simple and hides nothing from the user, providing all features under each respective category, the scan options are in a drop down menu next to the scan button which may throw some users off. It has options to give feedback on the interface or protection so they are aware of things people want changed which is a nice touch.
The scan screen is nicely setup, a circle in the middle that visually represents how much of the scan is done along with a percentage and stats on how many files scanned, how may threats found and how many threats have been quarantined.
The settings screen is daunting to anyone that may not be super computer savvy. It does have a fairly simple layout that shows all the various settings but doesn’t make it easy for new users and for newbies it’s possible to get lost. There is lots of support available on line but it takes some exploration to find.
